    American Packaging Corporation (APC) respects its visitors' rights to personal privacy. This privacy statement covers the websites http://www.ampkcorp.com and http://www.americanpackaging.com. Throughout this privacy statement, both web addresses will be referred to as www.ampkcorp.com.     Information Collection
    American Packaging Corporation collects information from our users throughout our web site. American Packaging Corporation is the sole owner of the information collected on www.ampkcorp.com. Listed below are the areas of our web site where we collect information from our users and how we use this information.

    Contact Us Forms
    If you contact us using on of our forms on our web site, we require that you provide certain personally identifiable information, including your name, postal address, and email address. This information is collected by American Packaging Corporation so we may contact you to address any questions or comments that you may have. We will contact you by email unless the email address is not stated, the email address is invalid or if you prefer a different method of contact.

    Job Application
    Users also have the ability to apply for jobs online. When they copy and paste their resumes to us, it is processed by our Human Resources department just like sending it through the mail.

    Regular Email
    American Packaging Corporation also has links to email certain members of our staff. As with our Contact Us form, we will only use the information you provided to help serve you better.

    Surveys or Contests
    Every so often our web site will offer a survey or contest for users to participate in. Please be aware that participation to these surveys or contests is completely voluntary. The user has the choice whether or not to disclose any information requested during signup or participation in the survey or contest. Information typically requested would include contact information (such as a name or shipping address) and demographic information (such as country or zip code).

    Contact information will be used to notify the winner(s) and award the prize. Survey information will be used internally by members of APC to monitor or improve the use of the web site. This information will only be viewed by members of APC and will not be sold or given away to any other company.

    Childrens Privacy
    American Packaging Corporation does not wish to obtain personal identifiable information from children (persons under the age of 18) who are using our site unsupervised. We ask that children obtain the consent of their parent or legal guardian before providing us with any personal identifiable information.

    Information Use
    As mentioned in some of the previous paragraphs, American Packaging Corporation uses your personal information in order to reply back to any questions/comments/suggests or possible troubles you may have using our web site.

    We use your first and last name to identify you from the other inquires that we receive. In circumstances where there is more than one inquiry with the same name, we may use an email address and/or a city-state combination to determine one user from the other. We use your address (postal & email), and telephone/fax numbers to reply back to you.

    When filling out forms, required information will be marked with a red asterisk (*). All other information on a form is optional. The only exception to this is when a user is applying for a job. Both the resume and cover letter fields must be filled in. If you currently do not have a cover letter, please type “NO COVER LETTER” in the cover letter field. It is highly suggested that you submit both a resume and a cover letter though.

    American Packaging Corporation uses other information, such as personal interests, product information, etc. to better understand your involvement in the packaging industry. We collect this information from you because these are common questions that we often need to ask people when inquiring about a product and/or service.

    Communication from Our Site

    Customer Service
    We communicate with you based upon the personally identifiable information that you provide us. We will communicate with you in response to your inquiries, to provide services requested, and to manage any accounts that you may have with us. We will communicate with you via email, fax, phone or postal mail in accordance with your preferred method of contact. American Packaging Corporation uses your email address as a default preferred method of contact for you (if you don’t specify a preferred method of contact). If an email address is not specified, or the address is invalid, we will contact you by using any other personal identifiable information that you have provided us.

    We do not send out any automatic emails to you. Any email that you receive from American Packaging Corporation will be from an actual person at APC, not a computer generating names for mass-emailing campaigns. American Packaging Corporation does not send out any mass-emails of any kind.

    Information Sharing and Disclosure

    We do not share any information with third party companies. All data received by American Packaging Corporation’s employees is kept within our company.

    Legal Disclaimer
    We reserve the right to disclose your personal identifiable information when required by law and when we believe that the disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our web site.

    Log Files
    American Packaging Corporation gathers certain information automatically from the web server and stores it in log files. Some information included in these log files are: Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, date/time stamp, operating system, and click-stream data. This data alone does not identify individual users.

    We use this information to keep track of our web page statistics, monitor trends, log errors, etc.

    We do not connect your personal identifiable information with these log file statistics.

    We use a third-party tracking service called WebTrends that enables us to analyze these log files into a more readable format.

    *Note: Our web servers are hosted by a third party company and are not property of American Packaging Corporation. Any actions that take place regarding that companies log files, hardware, etc. are not the responsibility of American Packaging Corporation.

    Cookies
    Our web site does use cookies on a limited number of our web pages. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on the user’s computer for recording-keeping. The cookies do not hold any personal identifiable information about our users. The cookies that are used on the APC web site contain only Boolean values such as:

    These are persistent cookies that will remain on your computer for an extended period of time. If you wish to remove a persistent cookie form your hard drive, follow the instructions provided by your browser’s “help” file.

    Our forms on this web site act simply as a formatted email message. The information submitted via a form goes directly to a specific employee designated to answer form submissions at American Packaging Corporation. We also store this information in a database that only serves as a backup to user submissions. Our questionnaire and contact us information will be emailed to our Corporate Marketing Coordinator. Each job application will be emailed to the specific job contact person. This person will be shown for every job application.

    Please be aware that we keep backup copies of the information you send us, via a form submission only, in a database. Currently, this database is only used if the email, which gets submitted to our Marketing Department, is accidentally deleted. We do not have future plans to use this database at a later date.

    Note: Our web site does not use any data encryption (such as Secure Sockets Layer [SSL]) when sending your information via a form. All information is sent non-securely through email. If you would like to contact us and do not feel comfortable sending your personal information to us via email, we encourage you to call us or postal mail us with your information.

    Correction/Updating/Deleting Personal Information

    To correct, update or delete personal information that you have submitted to us, please contact our Webmaster at webmaster@ampkcorp.com. If you have been in communication with one of our employees (such as our Marketing Coordinator or a member of our Human Resource department) please include their full name with this email along with the information that you need to change.
