At American Packaging Corporation (APC), we’re passionate about giving back and supporting the local communities we work and live in. Last year, when the COVID-19 pandemic first struck, every aspect of our personal and professional lives changed drastically. The challenges faced throughout the global pandemic have been felt across our entire APC family community, the communities we live and quite literally, the world.

Our dedication and commitment to our core values and supporting one another through this unprecedented time has been instrumental for navigating the path forward. We’d like to thank the two organizations below for their dedication and commitment to supporting the communities in which they reside. We’re proud and honored to support these organizations that continue to make a meaningful and profound impact right in our own backyards, especially as they pivoted quickly to support additional demands created by the pandemic.

    Outreach Program

Founded in 2004, The Outreach Program is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) corporation that organizes food packaging events in North America and internationally. Outreach has helped to package nearly 600 million meals that have been distributed across the United States and around the world. Outreach Meal Packaging Events are set up across the United States to engage businesses, religious and civic organizations, schools, and volunteers of all ages to package nutritious meals for the hungry.

COVID-19 changed volunteer engagement and at the same time dramatically increased the need for meals for community food banks and pantries. In May of 2020, The Outreach Program decided to invest in new production equipment to package meals to address these new realities. In moving to automated packaging equipment, they needed to redesign our entire packaging program and began to search for a company who could assist it with development of the packaging design and materials requirements.

Upon being told about a local packaging company nearby, The Outreach Team reached out and drove to Story City, IA.

The Outreach Program met with the APC team and toured the packaging operation. A meaningful partnership sprouted from that day. APC worked closely with The Outreach Team to help them fully develop their new packaging needs by helping establish pricing structure, materials, and graphics design.

“APC has state of the art graphics, production and quality control capabilities. We are now several months along with redesigned packaging running smoothly on our new production equipment,” said Floyd Hammer, Executive Chairman, The Outreach Program. “We are so happy that we were introduced to the great people, incredible capability and unmatched performance of the APC family.”
